On 12 KERN Ultra precision CNC -Machine centres our contract division manufacture prototypes, single lot parts, and full production runs up to 10.000 pieces; from mechanical watch components, fibre optic connectors to medical instruments and turbine wheels in sub-millimetre range.  The many years of experience in micro manufacturing and the ongoing training of our staff makes this possible, from the CAM programming right up to the Quality control.  
 
We implement micro accurate contours, free form contours and holes in positional and form tolerance of up to ±1µm with process reliability. In most cases no manual or hand rework is necessary as the achieved surface quality and the burr free edge detail is achieved on the machine. The tool manufacturers profit from this tremendously when milling hard steel for inserts or when machining electrodes. We utilize drilling tools from ø 0.03mm, mills from ø0.05mm and tread cutters from M 0.35.  
 
Seven CNC Machine centres are dedicated for large production quantities. These offer buffer stock for hundreds of components (number depends on the size of the part), highest pallet change accuracy due to "precision fixturing systems", unmanned nights and weekend shifts, tool life management utilizing sister tools or the use of ID-systems for the fully automated machining of different parts. These systems are expandable in order to for example wash the parts after machining. We apply value to the highest process insurance in order to guarantee the same quality and accuracy on the first or ten thousandth part.
